Cardinal Engineering Associates - 55 years of excellence

Cardinal Engineering was retained by the Town of Hamden to design a 1,400 linear feet of 3' x 10' box culvert to alleviate flooding along Pardee Brook. This project tied into the Lower Pardee Brook Drainage Improvement Project that was constructed by the Town in the 1980's. The original project was designed for the 50-year storm. Since this project was federally funded, it had to be in compliance with federal guidelines and be designed for the 100-year storm. To accomplish this, Cardinal Engineering Associates also designed a retention basin at Forest Street in the upper reaches of the watershed to reduce the peak flows and allow the Lower Pardee Brook project to pass the 100-year flows.
