Cardinal Engineering Associates - 55 years of excellence

This project involved the full-depth reconstruction of approximately 3300 feet of urban collector road. The existing roadway had deteriorated pavement, substandard geometry, insufficient width, inadequate cross slope, no curbs and is subject to severe icing conditions in the winter months due to the lack of surface and sub-surface storm drainage systems.

Work proposed and completed under this project consisted of complete reconstruction of Shuttle Meadow Avenue to Reservoir Road. Improvements consisted of pavement widening to a uniformed width of 26 feet, improvements to vertical and horizontal geometry, roadway cross section, sight line and turning improvements at the Reservoir Road intersection. In addition, a closed storm drainage system was installed on Shuttle Meadow Avenue.

Cardinal Engineering was the prime consultant and provided all engineering services for this project including survey, design, subsurface exploration, pavement design, resident engineering and contract administration services.
