Cardinal Engineering Associates - 55 years of excellence

In 1980 Cardinal Engineering completed the facility plan for the elimination of CSO's in the City of New Haven. The facility plan included preliminary design of a separate storm sewer system consisting of 103 miles of pipe to eliminate CSO's and roadway flooding. This project required hydraulic modeling of the entire collection system utilizing the EPA SWMM Model.

For the past 25 years Cardinal has played an integral role in the implementation of the plan. We have designed and provided complete construction engineering services for nine major CSO projects with a total construction cost of $ 20 Million. These projects involved construction of some of the major interceptors for the new system including several major projects in downtown New Haven. Below is a brief description of the most recent of the nine projects completed to date. In 1980 Cardinal Engineering completed the facility plan for the elimination of CSO's in the City of New Haven.
