Cardinal Engineering Associates - 55 years of excellence

Cardinal Engineering was retained by the City of Stamford to perform a feasibility study to maximize the suitability of providing gravity sanitary sewers to all 55 houses in the Wedgemere Road Section of the city.

The goal of this project was to provide service to the lowest floor of all homes. During the preliminary feasibility study alternatives were evaluated based on many criteria including: ease of construction, construction cost and duration, environmental impacts, easement requirements and permit requirements.

It was determined that the best solution to meet the goals of the city was a system of gravity sewers. To avoid deep excavations in the street and front yards, grinder pumps were used for several homes.

After the City reviewed and concurred with the study prepared by Cardinal, Cardinal was retained to design accomodations for the sanitary sewer extension, as well as 5,000 linear feet of roadway and drainage improvements.
